I love how just a bit of it really brightens up the maybe a little bit overcooked meat the main dish and some side dishes. {admit it, it can happen to any of us!}

Holiday Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh cranberries rinsed and pat dried
- 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 10 oz can cranberry jellied sauce {no berries}
- a squeeze of one lemon
Instructions
- in a food processor pulse the cranberries till small pieces form
- {if you don't have a processor you can put in a zip lock and smash with a rolling pin}
- in a saucepan over medium heat place all the ingredients and slowly bring to a boil
- give it a few stirs to get it all combined and the sugar and jelly melted in
- once you have a good boil going reduce heat to low to a simmer
- let simmer for 15-20 min to really let all the berries break down
- while it's simmering you just need to keep an eye on it and stir just a few times
- once all the berries are broken down and you have a nice sauce consistency
- remove from heat
- serve hot, warm, or chilled
