I love orange marmalade! It is by far my favorite jam. I don’t know if it’s because I loved Paddington Bear so much as a girl or what. I just know that I love it! With this love in mind, I wanted to create a breakfast that the pickiest of eaters would die over. I am sure not many 5 years old’s are dying to put orange marmalade on their toast any time soon. I can guarantee that once they taste this Orange Cream French Toast Overnight Casserole, they will be lifelong lovers just like me!

So what makes it so creamy you ask. I am sure you are thinking oh I am sure it’s just cream cheese-like all the other recipes out there. Well, you would be only half right. There is indeed cream cheese, but what makes this recipe over the top and creates the cream cheese taste explosion?
Mascarpone! Yes, you read that right. Mascarpone. The king of all creamy style cheese. Decadent, rich, smooth, slightly sweet Mascarpone! I love this cheese so much. If you are unfamiliar with the name, this is the base of what makes tiramisu so very very good! Add that to cream cheese and you have the ultimate in creamy cheesy goodness!
How do you like my action shots? I love the way powdered sugar comes out of the sifter. It’s like a magical little snowstorm. I also think that it’s the perfect topping to all things sweet breakfast! This recipe is so very perfect for Spring related Brunches, Ladies Luncheons, Bridal, and Baby Showers, or just because you love your family!

Ingredients
- 1 loaf french bread cut into 1″ pieces
- 8 oz container of mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 brick of cream cheese {4 oz}
- 11 eggs divided
- 1 cup orange marmalade
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla
Instructions
- cube bread
- spray a 9×13 baking dish with nonstick spray
- place half the cubes in the dish
- in a mixing bowl combine both kinds of cheese and 1 egg on medium-low
- {it should become more liquid-like but not watery}
- stir the one cup marmalade
- spread over the cubed bread
- place the remaining cubes on top
- in another mixing bowl whisk the remaining 10 eggs and 1 cup of milk
- pour over the bread, making sure to get it all soaked
- cover with plastic wrap
- chill in the fridge overnight
- preheat oven to 350
- bake for 50-60 min or until no liquid egg mixture can be seen
- top with powdered sugar if desired
