I love wild rice. I really love the mixture of the soft fluffy white rice balanced with the nutty denser wild. You could serve this with just white, or brown, or even over pasta. The chicken is very versatile and it will pair well with any side dish you prefer.
I used minced garlic that is in the jar with olive oil. I like using this as there is no clean up and I have my garlic instantly. If you prefer mincing your own, by all means, go ahead.

Brown sugar gives the hint of sweetness and the Sticky. I balance this sweetness with the spice and heat of red pepper flakes. Using bone-in chicken over boneless helps to keep the meat really moist and gives the rotisserie flavor.

Ingredients
- 2-3 bone-in chicken breasts with the skin removed
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbs minced garlic
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes {unless you dare to use more}
- 2 tbs corn starch mixed with 2 tbsp water to make a slurry
Instructions
- spray the crock of your slow cooker with no-stick spray
- place the chicken breasts in
- salt and pepper the breasts
- place in the brown sugar
- add the cider vinegar
- add the soy sauce
- add the garlic
- add the red pepper flakes
- cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3
- remove the chicken and shred with 2 forks discard the bones
- reserve the liquid
- place liquid in a saucepan over high heat
- add the cornstarch slurry
- bring to a boil and cook until thickened and reduced by half. approx 5-8 min
- pour the sauce over the chicken and serve with rice
