I have the perfect appetizer for you! No party or BBQ is complete without Spicy Bacon Wrapped Shrimp. Easy to make and so tasty your family and friends are going to fighting each other off for the last shrimp!
Every Summer get together needs a spectacular appetizer to set the mood and get the party rolling. Spicy Bacon Wrapped Shrimp is just that appetizer. These go great with any grilled meat that you are making for the party. Or just because you want to grill out just for the family.
I think even your pickiest eater is going to love these. It’s Shrimp AND Bacon! What more could you ask for in an appetizer?
Just look at those plump big shrimp all wrapped up in perfectly crispy bacon! Are you drooling yet?
You can control the amount of spice in the marinade. Like it hot? Add more red pepper flakes. Like just a hint of heat then use a little less. This recipe is made for a medium spicy heat.
Kinda like Goldilocks. Not too hot. Not too mild. Just perfect in the middle. Here are a few tips to help you make this easy as possible and have great success.
Buy frozen raw peeled shrimp. If you can’t find peeled then just make sure you buy raw. That means they will be grey in color. If you buy already cooked or pink shrimp they will be all gross and rubbery overcooked when you are finished.

Cut your bacon with kitchen scissors into 3rds. This size will wrap around the shrimp perfectly. Line your baking sheet with tin foil. You will have a much easier time cleaning up this way.

Spicy Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound bag of raw peeled frozen shrimp
- 1/2 package of bacon cut into 3rds
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 cup tomato juice orange would work also
- 1 tbs honey
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1-2 tsp tsp hot sauce
Instructions
- thaw shrimp {follow directions on bag} set aside
- in a mixing bowl combine all ingredients other than bacon and shrimp
- whisk to blend make sure to get the honey dissolved and combined in
- place shrimp in the marinade and toss to coat
- cover with plastic wrap
- place in fridge for 30 min to 3 hours
- preheat oven to 450
- wrap each piece of shrimp in a slice of bacon
- place on cookie sheet seam sided down
- bake for 5 min
- turn over using thongs
- bake another 5-7 min
- remove and serve hot to warm
