The exact words my son said are, “Did you put cocaine in here? Because I am seriously addicted and can not stop eating this! I thought about it all day at work.” Yes, folks, this Sticky Bun Chex Mix is that good that you will not be able to help yourself once you start to eat it!
Every good Holiday Party has some version of a Chex Mix on the table. You can not have a Holiday Party without it. It’s like a Holiday Rule…. no, a Holiday LAW. Yes, Law! Make sure that you are on the straight and narrow make this Sticky Bun Chex Mix for your next get-together.
Sticky buns are dripping with caramel and stuffed full of pecans. Writing about this makes me want to head into the kitchen and make a batch for tomorrow morning. Luckily for us, we have this great big bowl full of amazing sticky bun yumess! Although I better set some aside, or I won’t get any of it….. These guys in my house seem to make food disappear so fast.
Just like a sticky bun, this Chex Mix is full of cinnamon, caramel, and pecans. To add to the mix of delicious in here, I added butterscotch chips. I can tell you that you get some Chex cereal, pretzel, pecan, butterscotch, cinnamon, and caramel!
Your next party or family get-together must have this Sticky Bun Chex Mix! They are going to get just as addicted to it as my family did. I can see this being a new tradition that you will make over and over each year.

Sticky Bun Chex Mix

Ingredients
- 4 cups each of rice and corn Chex Mix cereals
- 2 cups pretzels
- 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 stick of butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil and spray lightly
- in a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients up to cinnamon
- in a sauce pan over medium heat combine the rest of the ingredients
- bring to a boil and let simmer and bubble for 6 min stirring very frequently
- remove from heat and pour over the mix
- working quickly stir and get all pieces coated
- turn out onto prepared cookie sheet
- spread to make a single layer
- let cool and harden
- once hard break up into bite sized pieces
- store in an airtight container
